Planning for Your Move
A member of the Colleague Services Team will reach out to your prior to your arrive to discuss details and schedule and move-in time with you.
TRAVELLING TO ALBERTA:
Calgary International Airport (YYC) is the closest airport to Lake Louise. Travel time by car is approximately 2 hours. http://yyc.com/
Brewster bus service www.brewster.ca offers full time colleagues at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise great discounts. To obtain the discount at the Airport, new colleagues are required to show the Brewster desk their employment offer email. It is recommended that you book your bus ticket in advance. The Brewster bus will drop off in front of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. When you arrive, you will walk to the Colleague Services Building.

If you driving, you can drive through the Banff National Park gate using the visitor lane (right side lane) when you first make the trip. Once you have arrived you can visit The Lake Louise Visitor Centre and they will issue you a resident park pass. You will need to show proof of employment or residence in the park to receive a pass.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise hotel is located at the top of a 5 km hill. After Deer Lodge, take a right turn on “St. Piran” this road will lead you to Colleague Services. You can park your car outside the Building in General Parking.
ARRIVING ON SITE:
A member of the Colleague Services team will present you with your “Welcome Package” which includes your new unit keys, mailbox key and the appointment time for your uniform fitting. They will then escort your to your unit to complete the move-in inspection and ensure you are all set.
FOR YOUR 1ST DAY OF WORK:
On your first day of work you will attend orientation. This is conducted by Talent & Culture (Human Resources) and will provide an opportunity to complete any additional or outstanding paperwork. Please ensure you have your photo ID, Social Insurance Number Card/Government issued document, Void Cheque/Direct Deposit Form from your bank account, and Work Permit/PR Card (if applicable).
INTERNATIONAL NEW COLLEAGUES
If you are new to Canada, there are a few items that are important for you to obtain prior to starting work with us.
This was likely given to you upon your entry into Canada. Please make sure you bring this on your first day as Talent & Culture will need a copy.
Social Insurance Number:
You must be assigned a Social Insurance Number (SIN) before you can begin your first day of work. This number can be obtained by visiting a Service Canada Office in Canada. Canadian Bank Account:
It important to open up a bank account at a Canadian bank within the first few days of arriving. A Canadian bank account is crucial in order to pay you. While you are there, be sure to obtain a Direct Deposit Authorization form. This provides the company with the information to directly deposit your pay into the account.
